I was on my way with my kids and sister to meet up with my mom and nieces in a cabin we rented in Gatlinburg, TN. As soon as you enter the city of Gatlinburg, you are immediately greeted with rows of ornate facades on the shops selling many common tourist items - shirts, books, local knick knacks, and many eateries. I'm making mental notes of places I'd like to visit as I'm listening to my sister navigate me towards our new home for the next three nights. We make a right turn down street #5 (no names on the street signs, just numbers) and start driving up a steep hill where our cabin is waiting for us. The kids notice the aquarium on our left and immediately chime in together with pleas and hopes of being taken there during our stay in Gatlinburg.
I unlock the front door of our cabin and the kids come rushing in behind me to start exploring the cabin. It has three levels. The level you walk onto from the front door has a large sitting area with couch and chair that overlooks the living room below us. Off to the left of the sitting room is a door to our first deck with an absolutely phenomenal view of the Smokey Mountains. To the right of the sitting room is a massive bedroom with two queen beds, jacuzzi tub, and bathroom.
We walk downstairs to the next level which is the main living area with a living room, dining room with seating for 10, kitchen, bedroom, and another deck with a row of handmade rocking chairs to enjoy the view greeting your eyes.
Down one more level is the kids' favorite floor. Off of the game room are two more bedrooms with their own bathrooms and a small closet with a washer and dryer. The last deck is just outside the game room and has the hot tub.
The cabin surpassed any expectations and we all decided we needed to have a large family vacation here at some point in the near future.
The next day we did indeed take the little kids to the aquarium while my sister and daughter explored the shops just steps away from the aquarium. The Ripley's Aquarium in Gatlinburg is great! Lots of fish to see up close and lots of stuff for the kids to touch.
